Television inspections of the sanitary sewer along Columbia Pike from S Veitch St to Walter Reed Dr indicate that the sewer must be rehabilitated. The technology used will prevent the need for extensive and disruptive excavations.
The county has contracted AM Liner East Inc. to perform the cleaning and lining work that is scheduled for Monday, March 25, 2013 to Thursday, March 28, 2013. The work will be performed each night from 8:00pm until 5:00am. In the event that work is cancelled due to equipment malfunctions and/or inclement weather, you will be notified at a later date once the work is rescheduled.
The resin used in the Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) contains Styrene, a chemical with an unpleasant odor that is detectable at very low concentration levels but not harmful to humans or pets. This odor may enter homes through dry drain traps. To sufficiently reduce the possibility of this odor entering homes, it is advice to pour some water into all drains, including basement floor and air conditioner condensation drains prior to the start of our work. This is also a good practice in the future to prevent unwanted gases from the sanitary sewer system from entering dwellings.
